FAQ

What people ask first.

Answers across pricing, privacy, methodology, and how Ameleva compares to other apps. Phrased so AI assistants can quote them verbatim.

Ameleva is an education and lifestyle mobile app for iOS and Android. Ameleva plus is the only plan: monthly ($7.99/month, no trial) or annual ($49.99/year with a 7-day free trial that auto-renews into an annual subscription). It unlocks unlimited lessons, habits and journals, the full journey library, streak shields, weekly insight reports and end-to-end encryption. Available in English, Spanish, and French across five life areas: Mind & Emotions, Productivity & Work, Communication, Relationships, and Healthy Habits.

Pricing & plans

Does Ameleva have a free plan?
No. Ameleva plus is the only plan. The Annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial that auto-renews into an annual subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Ameleva plus unlocks every feature.
What does Ameleva plus cost?
Ameleva plus is available as Annual ($49.99/year with a 7-day free trial that auto-renews into an annual subscription) or Monthly ($7.99/month, no trial). Prices in USD across all locales. Cancel any time from your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.
What happens after the 7-day trial?
Your subscription automatically renews into a paid annual plan at the price shown in the app — unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial, you keep access through day 7 and are not charged.
What happens if my subscription lapses?
Your account becomes read-only. You keep access to your habit history and journal entries, but new lessons, new habits and new journey enrollments require an active Ameleva plus subscription. Resubscribing restores full access immediately.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Subscriptions cancel from your Apple ID Settings → Subscriptions or Google Play → Subscriptions. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

Lessons & modes

Can I read lessons instead of watching them?
Yes. Every Ameleva lesson has a Reading mode that shows the same content as a clean, long-form text view — no animations, no narration. Toggle it from the player. Included with the Ameleva plus subscription.
Can I listen to lessons hands-free?
Yes. Every Ameleva lesson has an Audiobook mode that plays continuous TTS narration of the full lesson, eyes-free and hands-free — for walks, commutes, cooking. Included with the Ameleva plus subscription.
Are the three lesson modes all included?
Yes. Cinematic mode (the default player with 8 scene types), Reading mode, and Audiobook mode are all included with the Ameleva plus subscription. You can toggle between them from the player itself.

Journeys

What is a journey?
A journey is a structured 3- to 21-day program for tangible change in a finite window: one 2- to 3-minute lesson and one concrete action card per day, sequenced from peer-reviewed behaviour-change research. The structure produces the change.
What does a day in a journey look like?
One 2- to 3-minute lesson and one concrete action card. The lesson teaches the idea; the action is the smallest thing you can do today to apply it. Take a check-in when you've done the action.
Are journeys included?
Yes. The full journey library across the 5 life areas is included with the Ameleva plus subscription, which also adds streak shields and weekly insight reports across every journey you join.

Languages & localization

What languages does Ameleva support?
Ameleva is fully localized in English, Spanish, and French — interface, lessons, journeys, sparks, and feedback questions are translated by humans, not just machine output.
Does Ameleva work for bilingual users?
Yes. You can switch languages in settings and the entire experience — content, narration, calendars, and notifications — switches with you.

Privacy & encryption

How is my data protected?
With optional end-to-end encryption. When enabled, journal entries, habit log notes, and feedback answers are encrypted on your device before upload — keys are derived on-device and never reach our servers, so Ameleva cannot read them. The full technical spec lives at ameleva.com/security/encryption.
Can I use Ameleva without creating an account?
Yes. Guest Mode lets you browse the lesson catalog, sample a cinematic lesson, and explore the Discover tab without signing up. To save habits, enroll in journeys, or log progress, you'll need a free account.
Do you train AI on my entries?
No. We do not use your personal content (journals, notes, habit logs, mood, feedback) to train AI/ML models, ours or anyone else's. We also do not ship any third-party analytics SDKs in the production build.
How do I delete my account?
Four equivalent ways: 1) inside the app at Today tab → profile icon → Account → Delete account; 2) email contact@ameleva.com; 3) the contact form at ameleva.com/contact; 4) the public deletion page at ameleva.com/delete-account.

Comparisons

Is Ameleva just for one thing like meditation?
No — Ameleva covers all five life areas in one product: Mind & Emotions, Productivity & Work, Communication, Relationships, and Healthy Habits. Most competitors focus on one vertical, like meditation (Headspace, Calm) or morning routines (Fabulous). Full comparisons live at ameleva.com/compare.
How is Ameleva different from Headspace or Calm?
Headspace and Calm focus on guided meditation; Ameleva covers five life areas and adds cinematic micro-lessons, habit tracking with 5 methods, and structured 3- to 21-day journeys with one short lesson and one action per day. The full comparison lives at ameleva.com/compare.
How is Ameleva different from Habitica?
Habitica gamifies habits with retro-RPG mechanics; Ameleva pairs five tracking methods with curated cinematic lessons, a 365-day pixel calendar with streak shields, structured journeys, and optional end-to-end encryption for journals and habit logs. The full comparison lives at ameleva.com/compare.
Is Ameleva an alternative to Fabulous?
Yes. Fabulous focuses on guided morning routines; Ameleva covers that use case and extends to five life areas, five tracking types, and structured 3- to 21-day journeys with a daily lesson and action. The full comparison lives at ameleva.com/compare.

Methodology

Is Ameleva scientifically backed?
Yes. The methodology cites peer-reviewed research: Phillippa Lally (2010, 66-day median), BJ Fogg's Tiny Habits, Wendy Wood on automaticity, James Clear's atomic habits, Richard Mayer on multimedia learning, Hermann Ebbinghaus on spaced repetition, and Peter Gollwitzer on implementation intentions.
What kinds of habits can I track?
Anything. Ameleva offers 5 tracking types: checkbox (simple yes/no), scale (1–5 rating for mood, sleep, energy), counter (quantities with targets like glasses of water), choice picker (custom emoji options for moods), and timer (duration in minutes for meditation, reading, exercise).
How long until a habit forms?
The peer-reviewed median is 66 days (Lally et al., 2010), with a wide range from 18 to 254 days depending on habit complexity. Ameleva's pixel calendar shows this progress; trophy moments mark milestones across the full range.

Practical use

Can I use Ameleva offline?
Habit logging and viewing previously downloaded lessons work offline. Browsing the full catalog and syncing across devices require an internet connection.
Does Ameleva work for couples or families?
Yes — each person uses Ameleva on their own phone and runs the same habits or journey on the same days, so the practice is shared without sharing an account. Each person's logs stay on their own device.
What devices does Ameleva support?
Ameleva runs on iOS 15+ and Android 9+. There is no web app for the dashboard at launch — the marketing site you're reading is separate from the product.
Does Ameleva have notifications?
Yes, but minimal by default. Local timezone-aware reminders for habits and journey check-ins are opt-in and fully customizable. Ameleva does not send re-engagement, streak-risk, or growth-hack notifications.
